Check out the first sneak peak of Salem Season 2 which is set to air April 2015.
The first spoilers for season 2 have been released – who else is excited for the return in April?
The countdown is on for Salem‘s return!
ETonline scored the eerie first photo from the new season of WGN America’s witch series and drama is in the air!
In the photo above, the powerful Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery), dressed in an ornate dress and looking ever-so-stately, is seated on her massive throne as she ponders her next move. It’s an unsettling visual, as we all know just what Mary is capable of!
When Salem returns next year in April, the Grand Rite — triggered at the end of last season — is now underway and death is in the air. But the Witch War is just beginning, and Salem is at the epicenter of both. In order to bring her plan to completion, Mary must not only control John Alden (Shane West) and the town’s citizens but also those lurking in the shadows who seek the power she wields.
If this is any indication of things to come, things in Salem are about to get even more intense!
And also this little casting snippet too from TVLine –
Question: Any scoop for WGN’s Salem now that it’s been renewed for a second season? It’s my new guilty pleasure! —Raymond
Ausiello: Your new guilty pleasure is about to get even more sinful. When the show returns in April, Mary will cross paths with two men who sound like they’re going to be as dangerous as hot: Samuel Wainwright, a cold-hearted but quick-witted surgeon whose predilection for sadism would make Christian Grey blush, and Baron Sebastian Von Marburg, a 250-year-old Dorian Gray type whose “anything goes” approach to sex is the antithesis of puritanical. In addition to these series regular roles, Salem is also casting a pivotal recurring part: the ancient (and yet gorgeous) Countess Von Marburg, Sebastian’s mother and, if she has her way, Mary’s future mother-in-law!
Check out the various cast interviews which took part during the press room as Comic Con last month – and beware of spoilers for both the end of season one and light spoilers for season two.
Check out this video of the cast departing Comic Con after their panel on Saturday. In the video you can see Shane, Janet, Elise, Seth, Iddo and Ashley waving to fans outside before leaving.
There hasn’t been much in the way of press coverage (panel pictures, interviews etc.) but be sure that we are keeping out eyes peeled, so be sure to follow our twitter and tumblr accounts (links can be found above) for any news that does become available.

TVLine caught up with the man who plays the good reverend, Seth Gabel, and talked about Cotton’s character development, his unravelling relationship with John and that time he peed on Shane West.
